Welcome to Glencoe Mountain Snowsport School. Not only do we have a dedicated learning area which is arguably Scotland’s best teaching slope for beginners, but also superb views, and a mixture of snow and terrain to explore. Fortunately for us, this combination attracts some of the most energetic, enthusiastic and qualified instructors in the country who wish to share their knowledge and passion with you. Our lesson options for this season are detailed below.

Important Information
When booking lessons it is essential that you specify what your ability at skiing or boarding is. This is important for group lessons as we need to ensure that everyone in the group is of a similar standard.
Important: it is vital that you help us get your ability level correct. Being at a level too high for you could be unsafe and prove difficult to handle in a group situation. Being in a class with a standard much lower than yours would not be ideal for your development. If you are at all unsure please be sure to seek our advice before you book by calling the ticket office or speaking to a member of the Snowsport School. |
Learn to ski or Board:

For those who are complete beginners, who have never tried the sport or are in need of a confidence lesson on the beginner slope. You may have had an hour lesson on the dry slope or indoor snow-dome. More information....... |
Beginner Plus Ski or Board:
Price £20
For beginners who are able to use the chairlift and rope tow on a learning area slope ontheir own, have some control of speed and direction. Can choose a safe route down a slope, can change direction by using turns and wish to be shown a drag lift for a longer ski run and challenge. Boarders can side slip for speed control using heel and toe side and can falling leaf on both sides. More information......

Intermediate plus Ski or Board:
Price £20
You are confident on green and blue runs. Can change direction and control speed using turns. Are looking for a lesson to top up technique, move into parallel skiing or simply be shown the next terrain on offer for your ability. Boarders can ride confidently using the heel and tow edge turns. Glencoe Discovery Ski or Board:
Price £5
No formal instruction, simply turn up to ski or ride the mountain by following a qualified guide. You can ride a T-bar and turn confidently on a red slope and variable terrain. You are looking to meet like minded riders for a social days outing. More information......

Who is it for: As described above
Duration: 2hrs
Time: 10am – 12pm
Meet at: Ski School
The group lessons are designed to enable you to learn as part of a small group along with other skiers or boarders of the same level. Our qualified instructors will teach you to ride two methods of up-lift, how to choose and fit your equipment, plan a day on the hill and of course teach you how to grasp the basics of stance, balance, moving on the flat slope and sliding on snow in control. The lesson is loads of fun. Within the two hours, the aim is to give you the best possible foundation for developing your skiing or boarding.

Beginner + Ski or Board:

Who is it for: As described above
Duration: 1.5hrs
Time: 10am - 11.30am & 12.30 - 2pm
Meet at: Plateau café meeting point
The group lessons are a great way to improve, have fun and meet fellow skiers of the same level. Learn to strengthen your turns, move around the mountain using different slope and uplift. The lesson are designed as a confidence booster for those who are unsure of the next steps to turning at a slightly higher speed, skiing a longer run or taking on a more challenging slope. You will learn to control your descent by using turn shape and exploring moving into parallel.

Intermediate Plus Ski or Board:

Who is it for: As described above
Duration: 1.5hrs
Time: 2pm-3.30pm
Meet at: Plateau café meeting place
The group lessons are a great way to improve, have fun and meet fellow riders of the same level. Our Intermediate plus lesson will focus more on you as an individual within the group. As many skiers and boarders develop bad habits through the years, this lesson is designed to firstly identify areas to work on and possible blockages to your riding, then correct it in order to maximise your potential. In doing so, you’ll be able to ride around the fantastic terrain on offer at Glencoe. Skiers will look at moving into parallel skiing and strengthening their curves, whilst the boarders will focus on linking turns on their heel and toe side.

A private lesson is a great opportunity to develop your skiing or boarding to the next level. Private lessons are available for all abilities of skiers and boarders and can be booked in group sizes of up to 3 as long as all 3people are of a similar ability. With 1/1 attention from your instructor you will be amazed at how quickly you can improve your technique and build your confidence. Private lessons have the added bonus of priority on all lifts on the mountain.

Glencoe Discovery (Guiding Service)

Weekends only.
Time – 1.00pm - 3.00pm
Meet at – Plateau café Meeting Point
The guiding service is for intermediate skiers so that they can get more out of the mountain and explore areas that they maybe didn’t have the confidence to go to before. It will be a great opportunity to ski or board with other like minded people.
